Terms of Use

These terms apply to the CarVinLog website (carvinlog.com). The site is operated by Mercury Plus Ltd, United Kingdom ('we').

What CarVinLog is

CarVinLog is an information archive of car sale listings in South Korea from the Encar website, of cars for sale and at auction on Autobell Global, the export platform of Hyundai Glovis, of cars for sale on Lotte Auto Global, the export platform of Lotte Rental, and of lots of the damaged-car auction HappyCar. Each car has a page under its VIN with photos, mileage, an insurance or registration history summary, inspection results, prices and price history. Sold, withdrawn and auctioned cars remain in the archive. The site automatically estimates the price relative to the market, checks the mileage and decodes the VIN.

CarVinLog does not inspect cars or give expert opinions. The site is not affiliated with Encar, Hyundai Glovis/Autobell Global, K Car, Lotte Rental/Lotte Auto Global, HappyCar or Carland Auction and does not act on their behalf.

Data 'as is'

The data is taken from listings on Encar, Autobell Global and Lotte Auto Global and the reports attached to them, and from lots of the HappyCar auction. It may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate, and the actual condition of a car may differ from it.

• The 'data as of' date and the dates in the price history show when the data was updated on our site, not on Encar, Autobell Global, Lotte Auto Global or HappyCar.
• The price estimate relative to the market is based on listing prices of the same source, not actual sale prices. Autobell Global and HappyCar do not publish auction results, and the site does not show them; HappyCar lots have no price either.
• The VIN of a HappyCar lot is read automatically from the lot's photos and may be misread: check it against the documents and the plate on the car.
• Our automated calculations are a guide, not a professional opinion.

We do not guarantee that the data is accurate or complete.

Before buying, check the car yourself: inspect it, have an independent specialist carry out diagnostics, and verify the VIN and documents.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable:

• for decisions made on the basis of the site's data;
• for losses caused by inaccurate or incomplete data;
• for interruptions to the site's availability.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Account

You need an account only to request the removal of a car page. Use your own valid email address and do not share your password with anyone. For extra security you can enable two-factor sign-in. You can delete your account in your account area at any time.

Removing a car page

Any user with an account and a verified email address can submit a request. By submitting a request, you confirm that you own the car or are acting with the owner's consent.

While the request is under review, the page stays on the site. Send us the request number and VIN via Telegram or by email. We will ask you to confirm that the car is yours or that you are acting with the owner's consent. We may reject the request if you do not provide this confirmation. We will tell you our decision by email. After removal, the VIN is blocked and the site does not show new listings with that VIN.

Do not submit requests for other people's cars without the owner's consent.

What is prohibited

• Automatically collecting data from the site (scraping, bulk downloading of pages and photos) beyond what the robots.txt file permits.
• Circumventing the site's restrictions, attempting to breach its security or gain access to other people's accounts, or overloading the site with requests.
• Submitting removal requests in someone else's name or with false information.

If you break these rules, we may delete your account or restrict your access to the site.

For rights holders

If your photos or data are published on the site and you object, read the 'For rights holders' page, which explains what to include in your message. You can write to us via Telegram or at the email address below. If it is your car, the easier route is a removal request from your account area.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We publish each new version on this page with the date at the top, and it takes effect when published.
